"The new head office is a clear commitment to Stuttgart as a location", commented Brian S. Tyler, Chairman of the Celesio Management Board at the official opening, which was also attended by Stuttgart Lord Mayor Fritz Kuhn. "We want to push forward our growth in Europe from this location. The new building, with its contemporary office concept, will make collaboration between our employees much easier and better. At the same time, this move will make us more appealing. As an employer in the future-oriented healthcare market", Brian Tyler continued.

Lord Mayor Kuhn gave a speech to Celesio employees at the opening: "I'm delighted that Celesio has decided to stay at the Stuttgart site in the long term. A healthcare company of this size both makes the heart of our city more attractive and increases its economic diversity."

The move from Bad Cannstatt to Europe Plaza, which is close to the main train station, significantly improves the pharmaceuticals distributor's public transport connections. This is why the focus of the mobility concept is on its promotion: Celesio is subsidising the Stuttgart public transport company ticket and is making employee parking spaces subject to charge. The company is also testing electric company cars and is providing fast-charging stations. This entrepreneurial initiative will also support the city of Stuttgart in its fight against particulate pollution.

Celesio AG is the first company in Stuttgart to be awarded the “Mobil.Pro.Fit” certificate for this concept. The certificate, awarded by the nationwide mobility initiative supported by the Federal Environment Ministry, is an honour in recognition of the new company mobility concept.

The new building also demonstrates the Stuttgart-based company’s dedication to sustainability, as it has been awarded a Gold certification for its energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly design in accordance with the standards of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB, The German Sustainable Building Council).
