The annual general meeting approves the change of name from GEHE AG to Celesio AG by an overwhelming majority. The Celesio name stands for the European market leader in pharmaceutical distribution. The GEHE name is only to be used for the wholesale operations in Germany and the Czech Republic.

Acquisition of a holding in the German pharmaceutical wholesaler Andreae-Noris Zahn AG, Frankfurt.
The first-time issue of promissory notes for an amount of 243.5 million euros diversifies the financing structure of the Celesio Group.
New branches opened in Delmenhorst/Germany, Bourg-Achard/France, Lisbon/Portugal.
100 years as a public limited company - 1st year Celesio
Capital increases carried out in 1910 and 1912 laid the financial foundation for the country-wide sale of "drugs and paints, pharmaceutical and chemical products" in close proximity to customers.
Our capital increase in the business year 2002 has once again given us the scope, in this our centenary year and following years, to expand in attractive markets.
At the annual general meeting on 24 April 2003 the shareholders approved the change of name from GEHE AG to Celesio AG with an overwhelming majority of 99.98 percent. Therefore, in the 100th year as a public limited company, the 1st year of Celesio began.

On Wednesday 20 May 2003 the employees, together with representatives from business, politics and media, commemorated the start into the first Celesio year with celebrations.
